Michelle earned a law degree as well as a Masters in Business Administration. She is a member of the Elder Law Section of The Florida Bar and theThe Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar Michelle has served two terms on the Board of Directors of the National Guardianship Association and is past president. Michelle is board certified in Elder Law by the Florida Bar.
Michelle began her career as a probate staff attorney for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit. She was promoted to Court Probate & Guardianship Counsel and then to Director of Probate, Guardianship and Mental Health Services for the Circuit Court. Prior to private practice, Michelle was appointed by Governor J eb Bush as the Executive Director of the Statewide Public Guardianship Office in Tallahassee. During this time in Tallahassee, a well known right to die case was the center of attention. As executive director Michelle was asked to advise and and develop strategies for improving advance directives in Florida. Michelle continued to serve in this position for Governor Charlie Crist.
Michelle has served on numerous national and state work groups as well as been invited to speak throughout Florida and across the country. One of her proudest moments was in September of 2011, when she had the privilege of testifying to the United States Senate Special Committee on Aging,
